June 31, 2011 presented Heavy Weather in Racine with wind gusts up to 70 Miles per hour.
As you can imagine Lake Michigan was in an excited state. Here are the waves breaking over the 10-foot tall harbor sea wall.

Luckily we were preparing to boat for a two weak sail and did not have to make the decision not to take on this torrent!
However, things had calmed down a little by the next morning when we decided to take advantage of the strong south winds to go north to the Manitou Islands. Here is a short clip showing conditions in middle afternoon on July 1, 2011
